- * Ribosomal protein S24e signature *
- ************************************
-
- A number of eukaryotic and archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped
- on the basis of sequence similarities. One of these families consists of:
-
- - Mammalian S24 [1].
- - Xenopus S19 [2].
- - Mucor racemosus S24 [3].
- - Halobacterium marismortui HS15 [4].
-
- These proteins have 102 to 148 amino acids. As a signature pattern, we
- selected a well conserved stretch of 16 residues in the central part of these
- proteins.
-
- -Consensus pattern: T-[RKH]-F-G-x(2)-K-T-x-G-[FY]-[GA]-x-[LIVM]-Y-D
- -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL.
- -Other sequence(s) detected in SWISS-PROT: NONE.
- -Last update: December 1991 / First entry.
